Growing up in Sudbury, I began running in high school and fell in love with the sport. As I continued to pursue running while at Laurentian University, I had the opportunity to compete at provincial and national levels and completed a thesis exploring the biomechanical variations between long-distance and middle-distance runners at varying speeds.
With a growing interest in running mechanics, I took on coaching roles, initially focusing on elementary and high school athletes. Today, I use gait assessment as a crucial tool in my practice to identify factors contributing to injuries, performance and overall experience on the run.
Since graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, I have used soft tissue therapy, joint manipulation, acupuncture, and more to help runners and athletes recover from injuries and return to activities they love. I find joy in helping others discover or re-discover the same love for running and movement that I have. Whether it’s recovering from an injury or preparing for a first race, I work with individuals of all ages and abilities to advance their training at the right pace.
As a self-proclaimed “shoe nerd,” I have extensive experience with running footwear from my research background and seven years working with Running Room. Whether you’re curious about performance or preventing injury, I’m always game to chat about shoes.
Outside the clinic, I train for races ranging from 5k to the half marathon. I’m also frequently found on the Burlington and Hamilton waterfronts, running with others who share the same passion.

Tyler comes to the clinic after years of experience in the rehabilitation and athletic development field. At the University of Windsor where he was a top 12 Nationally ranked sprinter, Tyler earned a Kinesiology degree in 2018 and has been furthering his education ever since. He used what he learned in school to pursue personal training where he specialized in athletes and special populations.
Tyler completed massage therapy school in 2020 at the Ontario College of Health and Technology where he gathered a new set of skills and certifications such as Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial Cupping, and Medical Acupuncture. Using deep tissue massage, fascial stretching, and education, Tyler’s practice is focused around correcting functional imbalances and restoring range of motion to manage everyday pain.
Having been the sprint coach of his old high school track and field team, Tyler looks forward to working with a wider range of athletes around Hamilton to optimize running mechanics and to prevent injury.
In his spare time Tyler enjoys working on his own fitness with up-to-date strategies. He has also been trying to convert from sprinting to long distance running. Catch him at Bayfront park trying his best.

Movement is my passion. I love learning to move in different ways by participating in different activities. Running is my favourite activity and I am very excited to be sharing this passion with all of you!
I grew up playing a lot of different team sports but did not fully embrace running as an activity itself until the pandemic. I was running a few times a week up until that point, but when everything shut down I realized the only way to stay active was to move my legs. I have been hooked on running ever since!
I developed an enjoyment in learning the science behind running and applying that information to my own training. I want to continue to develop my running science knowledge and build my passion to help runner’s achieve their performance goals.
When I am not in the clinic I can be found doing a variety of activities and hobbies. I love exploring new running routes in Hamilton and the surrounding areas, surfing the great lakes, and snowboarding every mountain I can, to just name a few! I am excited to get to know the Hamilton running community and help all of you recover from injury and reach your performance goals!

I was inspired to become a naturopathic doctor when I recognized the under-utilization of natural medicine in healthcare. I find that there is a divide amongst those who interact with natural medicines or and those who gravitate towards more conventional medicine, and I want to bridge that gap. I believe that both subsets of medicine can be useful to meet the goals of patients and to promote health, but more importantly, I see that there can be an integration of the two medical subsets to optimize the patient’s well being.
My treatment philosophy follows the tenets of naturopathic medicine:
First do no harm and utilize the healing power of nature: my goal is to assist my patients by using the least risky therapies to improve their outcomes.
Treat the whole person: I believe that both physical and mental aspects of the person must be addressed to optimize your health and training goals.
Identify and treat the cause: Addressing the root cause of injuries and health concerns is critical to stop the progression and recurrence, as opposed to simply managing symptoms.
Doctor as teacher: I believe that educating patients to understand their current concerns and how the treatment plan is designed to address them is a powerful strategy way to empower them.
Prevention: I believe that it is important to prevent issues before the arise, this is a much easier approach than dealing with symptoms that occur due to maladaptation and overlooking potential problem areas in both training and general health.
Outside of the clinic I spend my time being active, whether it’s running, training at the gym, walking my dogs or travelling the world.

Running has given me many unique opportunities, from the sports fields in Hamilton growing up to the varsity track at Dartmouth College and the University of Guelph to races worldwide. It has helped me build self-confidence, explore my ambitions, surround myself with lifelong friends, and appreciate the gifts of movement, being outdoors and nature.
Among many wonderful experiences in the sport, I was lucky enough to compete at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in the 800m and other international events while representing Canada. After the Olympics, struggling with Achilles tendinopathy, I sought help from the Runner’s Academy.
The first session was groundbreaking, with a new perspective on the skill of running and how to take care of my body in the context of the sport. That experience gave me much more control in the injury process, a new understanding of a sport that I loved so much, and a vision for my path moving forward.
The joy that good health and pain free movement can bring is priceless. As competitive running was winding down, I transitioned into coaching, strength & conditioning, and Manual Osteopathy. I graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and now practice as a licensed Osteopathic Manual Therapist.
Manual Osteopathy is built upon three basic principles. The first is that the body is a dynamic unit. No part of the body functions in isolation. OMT’s consider the complex relationship between tissues and structures during our assessment and treatment.
The second principle is that the body is self healing and regulating.
The third is that structure and function in the body are interrelated. Osteopathy is concerned with reducing restriction through manual treatment, with the intention of improving body motion mechanics as a whole. This in turn allows the body’s nervous and circulatory systems to function more effectively. When this occurs, the body’s capacity to self heal and regulate is also improved.
For athletes and active people, this process is essential to recovery, our ability to move more efficiently, and resilience to injury.
I’m thrilled to join the Runner’s Academy community in my hometown. I hope to learn and grow here as a practitioner and coach, while teaming up with runners and athletes of all levels to help them pursue big goals and gain a better understanding of their bodies.

Movement is at the core of who I am. It will never stop exciting me that my work allows me to connect with and support those who share what I love most about running: community, fresh air, mindfulness, joy and the occasional heartbreak.
I grew up playing different team sports and began running as a means of connecting with my community after moving to Nepal to conduct research. Upon returning to Toronto, I quickly learned that it was often faster to run than to take the TTC, and my identity as a runner was secured.
I am endlessly curious about the intricacies of the human body and running science, and love to find ways to break down seemingly complex information into meaningful terms. It is my goal that runners leave each session feeling more knowledgeable about their bodies and excited about what’s possible for them.
Having had a run focused practice for ten years, I’m now thrilled to be able to support other clinicians and coaches driven to excel in working with runners, and can often be found creating and leading courses and workshops.
Outside of the clinic, I’m usually seeking movement and exploration, whether it be training for my next marathon or triathlon, hiking with my two young boys in tow, or jumping at any opportunity to camp or ski.

While studying to become a Chiropractor, I started running more and competing in Triathlons. It was never easy for me.
I struggled with injuries and was always curious about what else I could be doing to improve my running experience, endlessly researching and seeking wisdom from various coaches.
During this time I was working as a strength coach and attracted runners searching for the same thing. I realized there were many people relating to my struggles and tired of being told to run less when injured, and to simply run more to improve.
These early years inspired Janie and I to create a team of health professionals dedicated to raising the bar in what it means to treat and support runners. A team that not only has the education and skills, but the experience of running themselves.
I still get excited guiding people toward unlocking their potential, whether that is teaching them to move differently, change run form, ease pain or change lifestyle habits. I believe in helping people understand that health is multifaceted and that no single factor is going to help them achieve their goals, nor break them.
When I’m not in the clinic, I enjoy going on fishing and hiking adventures with Janie and our 3 boys. I love to keep active through running, cycling, swimming, strength training, Karate and climbing.
